Is skateboarding acceptable in Europe? I was thinking of bringing my skateboard with me to get around Granada as I will be there for 5 weeks. Would that be something that would be OK? Heck, is Granada flat enough for it or will I find myself mostly walking up and down the hills?

Granada is anything but flat. Its major attraction is on top of a hill called Alhambra, and on the opposite side there are 2 hills, Albaicin and Sacromonte. The rest of the city, as far as I recall, is fairly flat.
At first glance, I thought you were saying snowboarding... not in Granada, but 50KM away on Sierra Nevada there's a ski resort! The highest peak in continental Spain (Mulhacen, 3482m) is there! The road to the top of Pico Veleta (3398m) is the highest in Europe!!
BTW... these are not the highest mountains in all of Spain... that record goes to Mt. Teide in the island of Tenerife, Canary islands, which is 3718m.
