hi, i'd like to find out if i pack a pair of tweezers on my carry-on bag. i know that the swiss army knife & nail clipper have to be checked in because they can be used as "weapons" but how about tweezers? are they considered in the same category as the swiss army knife & nail clippers and be confiscated? thank u

Not 100% sure....but 98% that these will not be allowed. Contact your airline, or go to homeland security home page, you might be able to find out there. Basically, my understanding is if it's metal, if it is sharp or has a 'point', if could concievably be used to stab or cut it is not allowed. To be on the safe side, I'd check them. And I just went and looked....and apparently yes, you can! I am going to post the entire list of permitted/prohibited under the transportation forum if you have questions on anything else.

I'm 100% sure that you can't bring tweezers on carry on. A couple of months ago I had tweezers, a small fork and two needles from a sewing kit confiscated by security on a flight to Mexico.

Go to page 2 of the Transportation forum for the TSA list of permitted or not items. According to their site, from which I lifted said list, tweezers indeed are permitted. However, I well realize that what is on the list and what sort of mood your particular screener is in and decides to allow can be completely opposite these days.
