Opera! be still my heart! I went to the opera in January in Venice and in Rome. Is the performance you are going to 'opening night'? If so...you will need to be quite formally dressed. If not, understand that the Italians will likely be dressed to the nines but you need not be. I took along a basic black dress with hose and heels and while I was quite underdressed compared to some, there were many dressed about the same as me. A 'nicer' pair of slacks, button shirt and tie should suffice for any performance other than opening night. If you don't want to drag all that with you, budget to buy a shirt and tie there.....the one thing you should not plan on is jeans, tees, sneakers, sandals, etc. Those will not do.
Bocelli.......HOW did you manage to grab tickets to that! I am green with envy!

Well I met a Opera singer named David. He lives and canada and the opera company he works with can get things like that I suppose. He got 2 tickets and he knew i was going next year and gave them to me( Very WOW).I about freeked when I learned that I could see him preform in person. So a pair of Dockers and a Nice shirt and tie will suffice? its not opening night its like the 3rd or 4th day he is there, i think the tickets are for May23rd 2005 but i may be wrong cause i wont get the actual tickets till early next year.I cant Wait!
