So my boyfriend and I where looking at the prices of mixed dorms and that the other day... This might sound odd but I was wondering if we would be able to just bunk up together even if we still had to pay the price of two people? I seem to be way more comfortable sleeping with him and not alone. I was also wondering if anyone might know what it's like from a personal point of veiw to sleep with a large amount of people in one dorm?? Is it usally extremely uncomfotable and load or not so much... I am kinda worried cause my boyfriend seems to have the tendances to have a gas problem while sleeping after drinking beer that could make for some embarrasing moments I'm sure . Thanks for the info if anyone has any.

You still have to pay the price of two people and you will get two bunks.
If you both want to sleep in one single bunk after paying for two, that's up to you, I suppose, but they are pretty narrow - narrower than most twin beds.
I don't think anyone notices much what noises people make when they are asleep - at least I have never given it a thought. :-) I've worried that I've kept people awake by snoring, but no one has complained to me anyway. Earplugs are recommended for sensitive people and people know what hostels are like going in. When you are awake, use normal courtesy and so on, of course.

You would definately have to pay for two people regardless. Also, the bunks are SMALL. It would be seriously uncomfortable, they are only meant for one person. One reason for mixed dorms is so that couples can stay somewhere for cheap - but it's meant to be in separate beds or you should probably consider getting private rooms.
It's really not that big of a deal sleeping separately - it's not like you would be far from him, probably in the bunk above or below him. Sharing rooms isn't a big thing either, you get used to it fast. There are all sorts of people and everyone just does their own thing.
To get back to the sharing a bed issue, another thing you might want to consider is that is might make your roommates a little uncomfortable. Even if it's totally innocent, they don't know you to know that it is.

Add to that the fact that sleeping sheets are often required in hostels. And they are REALLY one-person only ;D. I don't think you would be really comfortable sleeping in one dorm bed together. And Kim has a good point: for strangers it could get quite uncomfortable, seeing you sleeping in one bed and not knowing what is (or isn't ) going on...

I wouldn't want to make anyone feel uncomfortable or offend anyone by staying in the same bed I was just thinking that I would probably be way more comfortable sleeping with him. But it sounds like the beds are extremely small cause we've slept in a bed that is smaller then a single before but I can imgane what they have you in. Thanks for the info guys ;D
