hey there. i'm gonna b all over europe in Sept. with my Eurail pass and was wondering if should b concerned about carryin small amounts of pot and/or hash with me.
is it not advised? hide it well?

I could send you a long list of folks who took a quick jaunt to 'dam and thought to bring home a bit of stuff. Sadly, most of them are in German/French jails right now.  Lived there for 6 years....trust me or not, the Europeans are much stricter about such things as we are used to here in USA. This is a sure fire way to end your trip in a mighty quick hurry. |

that is EXACTLY the response i was wanting to read!
altho i do have a medical marijuana license in CA, i'm not sure how it works overseas. Nonetheless, no, it's not worth ending my trip early or having a loooong unhappy vacation in a jailcell!

Medical marijuana licence? Try saying that in front of a judge. Quite simply, when you are in a foreign country you are subject to the laws of that country (assuming that you do not have diplomatic immunity).
In other words, it's illegal in the majority of EU countries. Even worse, in other countries it's borderline legal (such as the UK, where it's a class C controlled substance), although imo this makes it worse, as unless you really know the law you could find yourself unwittingly convicted of supply.

Rando,dude i actually got busted with like 3 grams of pot and like 2 grams of blonde hash while taking a train from Lugano, Switzerland to Milan, Italy. I honestly believe it happened because we looked like smokers( me and a friend) and our passport had a big old red flag waving, in the form of an amsterdam stamp. You could take risks but realize this , we got lucky, really lucky actually because all i had to do was sign 8 pieces of paper all in italian, whichi dont speak. The papers basically said i knew i did wrong and wouldnt do it again, in other words a slap on the wrist. But i was fine and didnt get checked in france and switzerland, take it as you will. Peace
