okay...so i'm from wisconsin...and of course, i'm a packer fan. i'll be in europe all of september, so that means i'll either have to find places to watch the first month of games or just miss them entirely. let's see...there is a monday night game on the 13th, at which point i'll be in brussels...i'm guessing if the game is on live it would be like 3am or so in brussels, so maybe i'll miss that one. then on sunday the 19th the packers play the bears, and i'll be in amsterdam. must find a place to watch that one. finally, on the 26th they play the colts and i'll be in berlin. anyone have any recommendations on places to watch nfl games in amsterdam or berlin? will it be difficult for me to find a place to watch them? will they be broadcast in english or the native language to the country i'm in? i haven't missed a game in years, and it would be kinda cool to watch them in europe...but if i do miss them, oh well. just thought i'd ask y'all. thanks!

No offense dude, but you'll be in europe surrounded by things you never get to see or experiance at home and you want to waste your time watching tv!?! Im a big hockey fan and we were there during the playoffs and we were so engrossed by our travels, we could not care all too much about (in the end). All you have to do is check the NFL (?) website for updates. DOnt waste a trip of a life time by watching the same s*** you would at home....BREAK FREE AND ENJOY WHAT EUROPE HAS TO OFFER!!!!!

There are expats in virtually any city or town.....if you ask around I would assume you could find a bar/pub in the area where most of them congregate that will be playing games. American football games used to be quite easy to watch in Germany.....many gasthouses would show them to draw in business. Would guess it is still the same in many places.

To the person that replied to you and said you shouldn't worry about it, he/she is an idiot. Personally, I'm here in Europe as well for nearly the entire football season. I'm sorry, but some people are just avid sports fans. Although I like soccer and everything, it's nothing compared to good old american football. Look man, I've got the same problem as you. I've been told to either find a friend who has satellite or minidish service, or to just start asking around at bars. You should have no problem with that, since I'm told that nearly everyone in the Netherlands speaks very good English (even if they really do sound like Goldmember from Austin Powers). Just don't imitate them like my friend and I'm sure you'll find what ever game you need. The problem is this. You might not get to specify which game to watch, because sometimes only one or two games is/are shown in Europe. If you can content yourself with watching just some sort of football, you should be ok. You might get lucky though. The Packers organization is very well known world wide, so it's very likely you'll get to see their game. Just feel sorry for me though, I'm a falcons fan. Anyone who knows anything about the chance of checking out some college football here neads to let me know, because I gotta watch my Georgia Bulldawgs play this season (National Champs to be, that's my prediction).

Try finding the American Bars around. You know, the ones like the Aussie bars and the Irish pubs etc..... They're bound to have american channels on satellite.

Just don't imitate them like my friend and I'm sure you'll find what ever game you need. LOL! I just had to reply! ;D Please please please forget all the 'dutch English' you here in the movies. I mean, Goldmember speaks English with an accent, but it's a German one! It might be hard for native english speakers to hear the difference, but trust me, the accents your actors produce hardly ever ressemble reality. I don't mind, it's always good for a laugh. But please don't try and copy it. it's very disrespectful to the people who try very hard to accomodate you by speaking your language (do any of you speak dutch, huh? ) Just stick to your language, try and pick up some basic sentences from the country you are visiting and you'll be fine. - This completes the educational bit, back to the regular schedule of football, soccer of whatever sport you like. - Cat

Hey, I found this blog because I too am going to be in Europe(Brussles) on the 26th.(Indy Game) and hope not miss a the Packer's Game. I am going to check NFL.com. Last time I was in Spain in October of 2001 I found a listing that stated the game was going to be televised. With the war on the schedule was not correct. Who knows? Look for American Bars, Check with the military?
Advise on Brussles would help me also...

This sucks.. I'm Swedish and I cant get a hold of any current NFL games. There is only one option: Pay top dollar for 8 crappy cable channels, of which one shows the monday night football game. Does anybody know of any resource that supplies the games online. It is the 21st century, for crying out loud. I don't care if the game is 2 weeks old. I just wanna watch. Thanks and good luck... markus.karjalainen@tele2.se

Skysports Extra broadcasts 2 games each sunday evening. I know because in Brussels there is a sportsbar Fatboy's sportsbar & grill at the place du luxembourg, for the belgian NFL fans.
