if you're traveling by yourself, what do you do at night? do you go out with other backpackers? do you stay in the hostel and hang out?

I like to find sociable hostels (i.e. ones with a party reputation  ). The bars there are pretty good, also there's often a mass exodus to a night club etc. Generally just make an effort and be flexible. |

but, sometimes party hostels aren't the best for other things. one can sleep at a non-party hostel, and go to the party hostel for the evening.
