I am about to purchase an ISC Int'l Student Identity Card. One of the benefits included is medical. This is what is says...
"Medical Benefits Throughout your membership you are covered with basic medical benefits that cover up to $2,000 in medical expenses, and up to $5,000 in evacuation fees, if necessary."
Would it still be necessary to purchase an additional travel policy, or would this be sufficient? thank you

No way is that sufficient. US$5000 is nowhere near enough repatriation cover in my opinion (imagine if something went seriously wrong, an air ambulance would cost a fair bit more than that). Also US$2000 isn't enough medical cover - medical care is quite expensive here and even if you went to a state hospital you'd be expected to pay the full rate as you aren't an EU citizen.
Generally, when looking at policies you need to think what if. You don't want to end up stranded over here faced with a huge hospital bill.
