I read the thread about the best walking shoes, but have a specific question. My husband and I both have fairly heavy hiking boots already. Mine are last year's model of this www.rei.com/online/store/ProductDisplay?productId=47699695&storeId=8000&catalogId=40000008000&langId=-1Do you think these would work for a fall/winter three month trip to Europe? We will probably do some hiking, but mostly will be in cities. These shoes are waterproof, warm and very comfortable. And best of all - we already own them. but will we stand out like a sore thumb walking around Rome or Paris in shoes like this? Thanks, Meg

Can't find my eact boots...but they are similar to this: www.sierratradingpost.com/xq/asp/base_no.64598/dept_id./qx/product.htmBut navy blue and a bit 'bulkier' than these. I have worn them now on 3 trips to Europe and never felt I stood out. They are the most comfortable boots ever...even more than my Dr's! Don't worry so much 'how' they look..what matter is are they super comfortable and waterproof? Can you walk all day long in them? If so, looks don't matter so much. ;D oh, this post from a 'non-hiker' and purely a city gal! From London to Rome, Dublin to Warsaw, these boots are my feet savers!
