Hey Guys, I'm a first timer doing Swap london for 1 to 2 years. Either working for the summer and traveling in fall and winter or the other way around...ok that's a whole other thing I have to figure out and another topic. my question is... being away for so long I would have to bring a little more them just my backpack. So, I was thinking of a full size backpack which I will be traveling around europe with and leaving a medium duffle bag in london with other articles of clothing for working purposes and extras. Where to leave my precious bag with is another question? or is there a locker I can rent for a few months...EEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHH !!! Ok...give it to me.

Hmmm.. interesting question. Finding storage, esp. for any period of time could be a nightmare.
I think I would lean more towards shipping..
If you are travelling first then working, pack the stuff you will need for working into a box then a few weeks or even a month before you will need it, get someone to ship it to where you will be staying. Or if you are working first, once you are done travelling ship the stuff you aren't going to need home.
We did this as we travelled for 7 months and needed different seasons of clothes-we brought a crap load of stuff and sent it home in boxes as we didn't need it any longer. It's not too bad cost wise if you send it ground.

Thanks Kim,
Now I just have to figure out if I should travel in the summer and work in the winter or the other way around.

I would personally work in the winter when the weather is crappy in London and travel in the summer.
If you travel in the off season it will be not as busy but I am a weather wimp and don't like to go sightseeing in the rain!
(which is ironic, coming from a Canadian..)
