What are some bargains everyone has encountered while traveling?

Pretty much everything I've bought in the US (God bless the weak dollar ), beer in the Czech Republic (30 pence/half litre), domestic goods/essentials (e.g. bottled water etc) in Eastern Europe. Generally you'll be hard pushed to find true bargains in Western Europe, unless you're looking for something pretty specialised.

I found a hostel in London that charges only 15 pounds a night and includes a full English Fryup breakfast. That's about it dealwise

Executive room at the Holiday Inn Heathrow Ariel for about 28 pounds, with the walkup rate being 180 pounds. The Mermaid Hotel in Copenhagen - I don't remember the exact amount, but it was about 1/4 of the rack rate, and included an amazingly comprehensive breakfast. A hotel in Victoria, BC that I once got with a special bonus deal for $7 CAD/night (truly remarkable). All were through Priceline.
But it's also a good deal to be able to go into most London museums for free. Most churches throughout Europe are free, or cost a nominal amount.
And how can I forget - I got a large, bittersweet chocolate bar in Italy that is better than almost anything that I can get here (I hate chocolate that's too sweet) that cost only 0.85 Euro. Any comparable chocolate bar in Canada is about $4 or $5. Sadly, although perhaps it's for the best, I got only one of these bars.

Cat, That's what I got when I booked online at the City of London Hostel. ;D 15 Pounds for Sunday-Thursday and 20 pounds on Friday/Saturday.
It's a fantastic price for a 5 person room.
