Has anyone done this? Brought back flower bulbs to Canada/US from the Netherlands. I am going to Amsterdam in early may (the perfect time to see the tulips) and would love to bring some bulbs home to plant in my own garden. I just don't know about the whole custom thing. Can anyone help me out?
Much thanks.

I know they sell packages of tulip bulbs on Schiphol airport. I never heard of anyone having trouble taking them home with them. I don't know if these bulbs are speacially treated though or differ in any other way from the bulbs you can buy in the flower shops (sealing the package etc.). As I'm from the Netherlands, I have never had to think about these things.

Yep, I've done it.
You need to buy the ones that come with a certificate (when you ask, they will know which ones you need). When you get off the plane, you will go through Agriculture Canada (or US wherever you are going home to) and they will look at the bulbs and certificate.
It's quick and painless, honest!

Thanks for explaining Kim, I guessed there was a catch to importing bulbs or other living material. Just didn't know which one.

Yup, I did it to, be careful to get the right ones with the certificate on them, but besides that, they are easy to find in the airport, they are all over!
