does anyone know which english papers are carried in europe? i mean us papers for the most part. I love reading the paper and i would like to know some news from home once in a while

I think I saw USA Today somewhere - maybe Berlin.
Otherwise, I'm blanking out on others - I have seen them, though.
One publication that seems to be available just about everywhere is The Economist. It's a weekly magazine, but kiosks will have the latest versions, and if you haven't read it, it's superb.

Yep, we got the USA Today in just about every country in Europe - my husband is the same as you and likes his newspapers!

the one i most read was International Herald Tribune. www.iht.com actually, i often still read it online. it has articles from New York Times, Washington Post, Boston Globe, etc. as well as its own writers. - d |

The IHT is really commonplace, as is USA Today. The Economist is more international (a fair bit of its content is European). If you are looking for English language papers then loads of UK newspapers (The Times, Daily Mail etc) are carried pretty much across Western Europe, as well as US papers and the odd Australian paper.
In terms of Newspapers, anything other than the IHT and (possibly) USA Today will probably be a couple of days out in Western Europe and more like a week or so out in Eastern Europe (they are also extortionately expensive in Eastern Europe).
If you want news though, the easiest thing to do is to find an internet cafe. It's probably cheaper than getting a newspaper and the news is often more focused/more recent.
