Kim, I love this site, and everyone has been so helpful. Any chance a Gay and Lesbian forum can be added? Thanks much, Toby

Heya, We probably won't open a Gay and Lesbian specific board because this is a travel related board and Kim doesn't like politics intruding on the travel information (staring at certain regs ;D). Anything you'd like to discuss, however, can be brought up in the Living Room. As always, Kim has the final say, but she won't be back from a trip for a few more days. Ooh! Just noticed, another Floridian! We're slowly taking over....

I'm guilty of that But I see where Rocklit is coming from. For people who are GBLT there are certain countries they can't travel in for fear of being arrested. But I should think any questions could be raised in other forums.

Thanks, y'all ... I've never heard of Flyertalk. I'll certainly check it out. Although, I am on a budget (living on student loans) Doug, I didn't realize there were so many Floridians. I've noticed lots of Canadians. Speaking of which, any Canadians want to switch places? I hate the heat and humidity here. You go outside for a second, and all of a sudden, you're melting.

Rocklit, It's the same where I am. With humidity we've had feels-like temperatures near 40C here. Not sure what that is in F. Canada's been swealtering!

To add to what the others posted, since this is mostly a "travel" Forum there probably wouldn't be enough of a "knowledge base" here to justify a specific Branch for G/L members. But again, Kim has the final word. Rocklit, you might also check thorntree.lonelyplanet.com as they have a Branch for G/L travellers. BTW, it's probably about the same temperature in many places in Canada at the moment, as it is in Florida. I believe there have been a few "heat related deaths" in Ontario & Quebec, and the power companies there have been threatening "rolling blackouts" unless people cut back on their power consumption (ie: air conditioners) during peak periods. Thankfully it's not that bad here in B.C. -- it's warm but probably more tolerable as we don't have the humidity (we also have more capacity in our electrical system, so don't have the same problems as in "Central Canada"). Cheers!!!

I'm used to the heat and humidity though. It's those damn mosquitoes! They're as big as yorkies this year!
