I've been visiting the thorn tree travel message board for a while now and just came upon this one. What a difference! You guys are so friendly and helpful on here! The Thorn Tree has become a board for people who love to bicker and nothing else. Seriously, it's countries against countries, narrow-minded people with shallow opinions. Hard to believe these are travelers! Anyway, just wanted to thank you guys and congratulate you on an awesome message board- that actually does what it's supposed to do- help out fellow travelers!

Kim will be so pleased by your post! And I think I can say all of us 'regulars' thank you as well for the kind words. So, hey, why not register and join in? We don't bite!

Babs, thanks for the kind words. I'm also a fairly regular visitor to the Thorn Tree, but try not to get involved in the "flaming" and other nonsense. There are a few good "regulars" on TT with lots of helpful information, but I certainly agree with you that the helpful atmosphere has deteriorated to some extent. Maybe that's inevitable on a Board with 250K+ members???
I agree with Ging - if you're going to be travelling, why not become a member here. We're a small group, but there are some very knowledgeable and well travelled people here. Although we tend to focus on travelling in Europe, if you have other questions I don't think anyone minds? If you've travelled already, I'm sure your expertise would be helpful to others.
Cheers!!!

All right I'm all signed up! Hopefully I'll be able to help other people and I'm planning on going back to Europe next fall. Still a ways away but should start planning soon.
