Hey kids, anyone ever stay at the HI Chicago? I'm planning a little 5 day trip, and this seems the cheapest option (tickets only about $110, so with $30 a night my 5 day trip would come to under $300, which is amazing).

Hey, the more the merrier! I don't usually have a plan when I go...I just loooooove Chicago. I usually hit the Zoo, walk the Mile, hit the Museums. Nothing really planned, just a break.

As of right now, I'm planning on 3/2-3/7. But that can change, I can pretty much take any Thursday - Tuesday Morning off for a trip right now. Interested in joining me? Anyone else care to meet? BTW, I'm big on walking and the El, not so much bus and taxis.

Chicago! Almost home for me (born and raised in WI). Anyway the HI Chicago is good unless you're going there to be social, but that usually works for me so I'd recommend it. I usually stay with people I know but when they're out of town or their roommates have guests the hostel suits me fine.

Unless your going there to be social? Not very busy or not a 'social' hostel?
