I have two completely unrelated questions.
First, can someone give me a simple rundown on what I need in order to plug my electronics into the wall in Europe. The salesman at the store tried to sell me a 35$ adaptor set. I was hesitant to drop any more money than I had to, so I thought I would wait to purchase until I actually understood what it was I needed. I'm not bringing any serious equipment like a laptop or boombox. I will probably only need to charge an mp3 player, razor, and digital camera. I assume everyone has to charge things in Europe, so what do you all do?
Second, any suggestions on how to carry soap. I am a bar soap fan. I know this is a random question but I wasn't sure what would work best. Should I bring soap on a rope?... or after I shower, should I just bring a plastic case for the soap so it doesn't leave residue on my bag?
Thanks.

Ok, for your electronics you'll definitely need a plug adaptor. Depending on where you're going you'll need a US to Euro 2 pin (two parallel round pins, around 2cm apart - this plug is good for the vast majority of Europe) and a US to UK 3 pin (3 flat, rectangular pins in a triangle shape). Now it gets more complicated. Depending on what you're taking you may or may not need a transformer to convert 230/220v to 110v. Check ALL the things you're taking with you. They'll have their input voltages either on them, or on their power supplies. You're looking for something like Input 100-240v 50/60hz. If it says that, or mentions 110v and 220/230v (there's real little difference) then you're good to go. Otherwise you'll need to buy a transformer - I'm sure someone else can recommend a specific model. Just for an example, I've just checked my camera charger, phone, mp3 player and shaver. All are dual voltage, so there's a good chance you'll be ok . As for soap, I'd take it in a zip lock bag. They're cheap, convinient and when you're done you can throw it away.

for soap when i travel, i buy a plastic container of liquid stuff. after use, i seal it, rinse it off & put it into a zip lock to prevent leaking on my clothes.
