Are packing cubes worth the extra weight? What about those folding packages.
Do you really get your moneys worth from them?

Libby, I have a 'medium' size one that I use in my pack....and keep all my undies and socks, travel radio, tiny flashlight, swim suit, etc in it and love it! Keeps all those small things from getting 'lost' in my pack. As for the folding cubes....I don't use them but assume they would be a world of hassle in a backpack and probably wouldn't keep things all that much neater.

dustoffmom, So you would recommend looking at packing one for the little things? I could see that. My friend said I should use use what he calls "packing tubes" for socks and undies....they turned out to be nothing more than knee highs. ;D I don't want to be laughed at

As well as the medium packer I also have two or three of the little 'pack sack/tubes' that I also use for meds/film/assorted little things like laundry supplies. They are small, take up little room and help keep stuff organized. It's the 'folding/larger' sacks that I avoid. Any small thing that helps keep your stuff together where you can find it is great by me. However, as with anything, it is easy to overdo and find yourself smothered by 'cubes/tubes'!
