Hi! I am going on an exchange program this summer, and I get to decide which country to go to! I would prefer that it was a French speaking country. here are the places I am considering: Luxembourg, Belgium, Switzerland, Andorra, Monaco, or France If you have been to any of these countries, I would love to know whether or not you would recommend going there, and what it was like! Thank you so much! ;D

I haven't been to Andorra but I've been to the rest.
I think I would pick Belgium, I loved it.
Plus, Switzerland and Monaco are extremely, extrememly expensive. Luxembourg, while very nice, is very small and might get dull.
France would be another good option-probably my second choice after Belgium.
The nice thing about Luxembourg, Belgium, Switzerland and France is that they are centrally located and you could visit other countries easily with a free weekend.
Lucky you, with such a great opportunity! One of our message board members is currently doing the same thing in France, I'll see if I can find out how it's going for you.

Exactly my thoughts with Switzerland and Monaco. $$$
I guess it's really a personal choice, I haven't been to Belgium, but I think I would go to France if I was in that situation. And like Kim said, you could take a weekend trip to Belgium, Lux, Monaco.. etc.

And I will also agree that the main choice among them is the money factor. Switzerland and Monaco you can 'visit' once there, but to actually 'reside' in either of them for any time will be horribly expensive.
While I personally enjoyed France more than Belgium I think perhaps Belgium is a bit better located for 'weekend' excursions to other places while you are there.
How long will you be there? What a fabulous opportunity for you! Congratulations! Feel free to ask away if there is anything we can help with.
