Hi there,
I'm planning on visiting Prague in September or october. I was wondering if anyone has got tips for me concerning hostels, sights to see, ways to get there (plane, train...) etc.
Another question: Will I be freezing if I decided to go in October?
Thanks!
Cat

Weather is unpredictable. In October it could drop to 0, and could be in the high-teens. I was there in April (which I think is like October). It was just above 0, with frequent rain and occasionally snow. I wore 4 layers of clothes, gloves and wooly hat. Be aware!
I stayed at the Clown and Bard and liked it. Isn't that on your list, Kim?

That's the other one that I had heard is good, I was drawing a blank. Here you go: Clown & Bard www.volny.cz/clown-bard/Borivojova 102, Prague 3, Czech. Republic 0042 02 22716453 Nitsansh: Any chance of you going to the Hostel Directory section and reviewing the hostels you've stayed at? It would be highly appreciated! Kim

I would be travelling from the Netherlands, I forgot to mention that (well spotted Kim!). Thanks for the tips, I'll let you know when our plans are more detailed. Any tips on transportation (from the Netherlands?) Thanks again! Cat

Well, the train route is a long one-it's around 15 hours and will cost about 140€ .
I would call a couple travel agents in your area and see if you can get a flight for less.
I looked at EasyJet but they don't fly to Prague from the Netherlands (actually they might not fly to Prague at all).
I'll do a little more investigating and let you know.
I loved Prague, it's a great choice!

Cat,
I keep meaning to ask you if you were born and raised in the Netherlands or if you are an expat.
Just curious! ;D

Hey Kim, I'm a native Dutchie, born and raised here, thanks for asking. I live and work in the south of the Netherlands, in Maastricht. I started working there a few weeks ago. Great town, you must have heard of it (maybe even visited it?!) Cat

I have heard of it, but never visited. Would love to though-it's such a beautiful country all together! Although, I have to say it was easier to enjoy in Sept. over March, cause in March it was cold!! (This coming from a Canadian-ironic, huh!) This is what I have been wondering about-your English is so flawless, I don't think I've ever seen you make a spelling mistake, gramatical error etc! I'm assuming English would be your second language-how do you do it?? I'm so jealous, I would love to be fluent in another language-doesn't matter which one! Kim

Thank you for the compliment, Kim! I wouldn't say that english is my second language, I learnt it at school and by watching movies and other english-spoken programs on tv. I don't speak it fluently, but I get by. Maybe you haven't noticed, but I try real hard to avoid difficult words like ness... necci... neccisarily, necissarily Get my point? By the way, it's my understanding a lot of canadians speak french, I gather your not one of them? About my trip to Prague, we are planning to go by train, flying is a bit expensive. Cat

We learn French in school in Canada but I'm in Western Canada so we are quite far from French speaking Canada so no one ever uses it.
All the people I know from school don't remember any French, except one-and she went on to be a French teacher! (Guess she paid more attention!)

I think French is a beautiful language, I leant a bit as well, but I haven't spoken it for a long time now. By the way, I'm very glad with my five stars!
