so here's my list of places to go. not sure how many days i should budget for each place. that kind of makes it hard to decide on a europass or point to point tickets. any guidance is appreciated.
arrive from us to either paris or nice
nice/st. tropez (friend has a house here so free lodging )
nice to barcelona (just coming here to catch a hopper flight to balearic islands)
menorca and mallorca (skipping ibiza probably, not really into all night parties and druken crowds)
balearic islands to valencia (by ferry)
valencia to andaluca region (various cities such as seville, cadiz, etc.) i want to rent a motorcycle and travel the region for at least a couple of days. still looking into the feasibility of that option, otherwise we'll travel by rail/bus, whichever is cheaper.
maybe side trip to morrocco
andaluca region to algarve region in portugal (friends mom is familiar with this area so she'll reccommend places to see)
algarve to lisbon (with a definite visit to belem)
lisbon to home
this will take place for 3-4 weeks in mid april to mid may of 2004. any ideas, constructive criticism? thanks

I can't really say how long you should spend in each spot. Depending on what you like to (or plan to) do I'm sure length of stay will vary.
Consider visiting the village of Eze while you're in Nice as a daytrip.
If you're in Barcelona, consider taking a trip out to Montserrat. While there isn't a 'ton' to do there, the scenery is spectacular if you're into that sort of thing.
I could see myself in Mallorca for 1 or 2 days at the very most... from what I can remember, there isn't a lot to do there.
Can't say I've been to Portugul, so no ideas there.

Only region of those I've been to is Andalucia. I spent there a week and it wasn't enough. You need a couple of days for Sevilla. Cordoba and Granada a day or two. Also go to Ronda & Gibraltar. Look out for festivals, and if you find one - go there! Elsewhere... at least 3 days for Barcelona. A day trip to Montserrat. En route to Barcelona from France you could stop at Figueres to see Dali's house and museum. Also spend a day in Valencia.
