Hello everyone, First, I'd just like to say thanks for the great website. I've learned a lot from it! Me and a friend are planning a trip to Europe starting either the last week of September or the first week of October. I wish I could go sooner, but work and money are holding me back till then. The time of our trip isn't set in stone by any means, but we've working it out to around 6 weeks. Here's where we're planning to go... if anyone can offer any suggestions it would be appreciated. The thing that is complicating stuff right now is how the weather is going to be around this time of year. Arrive in: London (England) Paris (France) Amsterdam (Holland) Munich (Germany) Innsbruck (Austria) Udine (Italy) Geneva (Switzerland) Leave from: Madrid (Spain) One other question I have is, I have a British Passport, so me buying a one way ticket from Toronto will be no problem, but my friend only has Canadian Citizenship. Will he be able to buy a one way plane ticket from Toronto? The reason for us getting one way tickets is we don't know when we'll be going back home. Thanks a bunch. Andrew

Hi Andrew,
The London airport is notorious for being hellish for getting through with a one way ticket. I wouldn't even bother... Immigration is VERY strict about letting people in without knowing a leaving date.
What he should get is a one year open ticket-it will allow you to come back anytime with a year. It's what we got-in and out of Amsterdam.
Let me know if you any questions about this..
Kim

Uhm, I'm a born and raised Canadian. I live in Toronto. Compared to me, my friend does "only have Canadian citizenship". Not really sure what I've said wrong here? I certainly haven't meant to step over any line Andrew

Kim, Thanks for the advice. My parents have been in contact with my friends parents, and that's what they've come up with. I guess they knew what the problem was going to be, and I didn't even need to ask Thanks again for the advice. Gazza, Sound like a very fun trip you'll be having! Lots of sun

Heh, no harm done. I guess if I spend some more time on this forum, I'll be able to pick up on the subtle jokes more easily. I'm glad I haven't started things off on the wrong note. Andrew
