Hey guys, I'm going on a one month trip to Europe this summer. I'm interested in going with a tour, like Contiki. It looks like a cool and efficient way to see Europe for the first time. What do you guys think? Is it worth it? Thanks.

Many people find tours to be really convenient, others find them too structured. It can be a great experience, especially if it's your first time to Europe. The planning and transportation is all taken care of, which saves you a lot of hassles. You might want to check out one of our sponsers, Kumuka Expeditions. www.kumuka.comThey do a whole range of tours in Europe-from ones like : France - Spain - Portugal to ones like: England - France - Spain - Portugal - Switzerland - Italy - Austria - Hungary - Czech Republic - Germany - Holland Kim

i've heard about an unstructured one called "busabout." it might be worth a look. www.busabout.com/some say good things about it, some say bad things about it.

Busabout is not a tour. It's a bus pass for travel between the main destinations. Has a plus that it's cheaper than train pass (for the same journey), and takes you door to door between hostels. Big minus is the limited routes and low frequency, and they don't have night travel.
Personally, I wouldn't take a month-long tour. Perhaps a week here and there... for me, planning my own route and taking care of everything is not a hassle, it's half of the fun!

Check this tour operator. They have 20-days whistle-stop tour around Europe, but you can stay in each place as long as you like and join the tour later (not that you'll have time for that). www.straytravel.com/
