I am still debating if I should get travel insurance....should I get it, is it worth it? Some people said they didn't get it, some people said it's better to get it...i don't know...I am a pretty healthy person. ;D

Without a doubt, do not leave home without it.
Even if you never use it, it's worth it. If you have to use it, you will save yourself thousands of dollars.
I would not leave the country without travel insurance. It's only about $1 a day, so it's not worth the risk.

Thanks! My credit card covers baggage, trip cancellation and accidental insurance. The only thing I'll need is medical. It'll be stupid to purchase an expensive plan from STA Travel or anything similar. Do you have any suggestions? What did you use? Thanks.

Pop into your bank and ask them about their travel insurance. Any insurance place or even your travel agent can sell it to you as well.
The prices shouldn't vary that much but it wouldn't hurt to call around. Like I said before, it should be about $1 a day.

Yes Sireee Bob! I got Travel insurance from STA Travel for US$120. My trip was a solid month. I don't mind the cost. It includes about everything including evacuation back home for better medical care. A Portuguese woman told me,"2 things you don't wanna do in Portugal; go to a hospital or call the cops before you call your consolate." I asked if the cops are corupt. She answered,"No. They just can't understand details you need to tell 'em." Other countries may have the same hospital troubles. The US can kill you slow with out just washing their hands. My mom had to cancel a criuse the day before it left. She fell and hurt her sacro iliac. Pleeeeez get travel insurance. Ya never know... Denial kills too.

I have to say I went to the hospital in Portugal (Lisbon) and it was great-it was English speaking and I was damn glad I had travel insurance!! (An infection in my foot turned bad...)
It was bad in Spain too but there were no English speaking hospitals so I waited for this one.

When i was taken to a Barcelona Hospital, the care i got was fine. i was treated by an english speaking physician, no problem with that. although i had no insurance, it was cheap. i paid by credit card & it was about US$50. <i'd eaten some bad kalmari in madrid >
