Does anyone have any advise on what guide book to use? I have looked at some and know which I don't want but can not decide which one I DO want.

Re: New Guidebooks for 2002! It all depends on where you are going. If you are planning to hit a bunch of countries, I would go with Lonely Planet Western Europe. It covers a lot of places, with accommodation, sights etc. It had better maps than Let's Go and more up to date information. Lonely Planet Western Europewww.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1864501634/kimseuropeadvent If you are only planning to visit one or two cities or countries, I would still go with Lonely Planet, only I would buy the city or country guide for more detailed information. Examples; Lonely Planet Italywww.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0864426925/kimseuropeadvent Lonely Planet Londonwww.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/086442793X/kimseuropeadventI also like the Rough Guides-the Europe guide was just published new for 2002. This link is for the Europe guide but if you scroll down a bit on the page, you will see you can get the Rough Guide for Europe 2002 and the First-Time Europe: A Rough Guide Special for $27.82, which is a good deal. www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1858287375/kimseuropeadventStay away from Frommers, Fodors etc. They are geared toward an older crowd with extra cash to burn.
