I was wondering about the size of this pack. I'm planning on backpacking trip that will be (hopefully) comparable to Kim's 7 month trip. Is this bag too large (I doubt it would be too small)? I believe I read that this was the pack that her boyfriend took. Was it too large or just the right size? (I have no worries about being able to carry it around). Thanks!

It was perfect for him but it would have been too large for me. Great pack however. I don't think I would recommend it for a woman but for a guy going on an extended trip, definately.
The thing about extended trips is that you have to pack for multiple seasons. We took clothes for warm and cold weather, then sent the cold weather ones home. When you go over, your pack is pretty full for a multiple season trip but it lessens as you are able to send things home.

A few more comments to add to what Kim posted. The Ultimate Journey is one of the largest of the EC Packs at 99L. They also have a slightly smaller women's model at 94L. It's difficult to say if it's too large, as this will depend on what you plan on packing and what time of year you are travelling. Are you including sleeping bag or camping gear? If you don't mind hauling such a large pack around, it should easily handle all the gear for your trip. You indicated that you don't have any worries about carrying it. However, you may find that after you've travelled for a while, you may want to downsize. I hope to travel for two months using a carry-on size EC Continental Journey Pack. I won't be sure how this concept actually works until I try it, but that's what I'm aiming for. Give it some thought.
