I am going to Amsterdam, Prague, Salzburg, and Milan in March for 8 days (I know its a lot). What size backpack do I need? I plan to go back to Europe for longer periods in the future. Thanks for all your help.

Try a bag around 50 Litres. That is just a little larger than a school bag and some have a rigid material in the back to disperse the weight better.
If you get a big bag you will just fill it.
Don't forget that the amount of clothing you need to wear does not increase so there is no need to take more than 5 days worth of clothing and just clean those as you go.
