Hello all,
My wife and I are planning a 3 week trip to France/Italy this March & April and realized that the weekend we are planning to arrive in Paris is actually the Easter weekend (March 22-24)
Will we run into a situation where everything is closed? Are we better to delay a week?
Any advice is appreciated!

That's the time we are going to be in Paris again. The museums I have checked do not seem to close on Easter (they do on several days per year, and one day per week usually, but not Easter). There may be some shops that are shut. Note that the shops being shut may carry over into Easter Monday, which is also pretty much a holiday. But again, the museums don't seem to be shut Easter Monday unless they are already shut Monday, which many are.
In Paris, a lot of shops are closed on Sunday, including Easter Sunday, but if you visit largely Jewish districts like the Marais and certain parts of the 9th arrondisement, you will find lots of places open.
If you are interested in Easter services, I think there will be some with very good classical music. I am going to check into this in the near future.
Anyway, I've never been to Paris at Easter before, but I am not anticipating any problems.

for a Spring trip, i suggest starting South, ending North. but, Rome will be crazy at Easter. don't do it unless you can reserve beds.
