I am traveling to europe in may and am planning on being there for 5 weeks. i have 4000 USD for the trip and have to pay for transportation while there with this money also. my ticket there and back is not included in this number. am planning on going to greece for a week then italy for a week and working my way up through germany to amsterdam. so i was just wondering if i have enough money for the trip or should i maybe cut a week off the trip time.

Basically you have about 2600 Euros. At 70 Euros per day, for five weeks, that is about 2450. And then add transport, and you'd be overbudget. If you can keep your costs down to 60 Euros per day, then that allows more transport money, and you could probably make it. But 60 Euros per day can be a little barebones in Italy and Amsterdam. Plan out your transport costs ahead of time - with Greece included, this can add up to a lot. You'll probably want some budget flights which you need to book well in advance for a cheap rate.

If you're planning on travelling this May and are considering budget intra-Europe flights, you better buy your tickets now!
