This hopefully will help those people that are looking for fun on the beaches. Personally I think the beaches in Spain far surpass anything in the rocky French Riviera.

I thought the beaches in Lagos, Portugal and the ones surrounding it were pretty beautiful.

the beach in san sebastian were nice, it was big so you didnt have to step on anybody, and corfu island, greece have some of the best beaches, also south france, a small city next to Nice, cant remember the name of it, but it was a nice town and nice beach, the beach in Nice had too many rocks, it wasnt sandy at all, hope that helps

To my mind nothing can beat the seas and beaches around the Greek Islands. Crystal clear water, to die for color, warm as can be. I am NOT an ocean swimmer....nor ponds, rivers, or lakes. There are things in there that might mistake my toes for dinner. ;D However, in Greece, at 15' deep you can still clearly see the bottom and I found myself joyfully jumping right in.

Top 3 best beaches have to be San Sabastian, Lagos, and a tiny beach in between Nice and Monaco. All are increbiblely beautiful and are worth checking out!! wish I was there now!!

Glad I read this thread!! I voted for Italy because that's the only one I've been to the beach in! I am going to Spain and Portugal next summer, and I defintitely want to hit the beach. We loved the Mediterranean on our honeymoon in Italy -- that clear, warm water is no comparison to the cold, icky beaches where I live!
