Pinkpop or parkpop in the netherlands

Has anyone heard of a festival going by either of these names (pinkpop or parkpop)?  I seem to beable to find loads of info on the festival which was held last year but nothing on whether it'll be held again in 2002.  Does anyone know anything about this cause going by who played last year I'd like to go this year.

You're mixing up two festivals.
You have got Pinkpop, which is held in Landgraaf (in the south of the Netherlands, near Maastricht). This festival lasts two days, you can camp on the premises (if you have a tent and don't mind the crowds, the mud and the noise). I think the dates for next year are 19 and 20 may. You can buy a ticket for one day, or purcase a combined ticket for two days. You should by these in advance, because it sells out pretty fast. I could try and find you the home-page, just let me know.
The other festival is Parkpop, wich is held in The Hague. This is a one-day festival and its FREE!!!!! Don't know the date for this year, usually it is in the summer (juli-august)

That would be great if you could find the home page.  I found a page for Pinkpop but it was in Dutch!  I could understand the dates and bands but they were all for 2001 and not 2002.  Not sure if this means there's a new page now or what?

I haven’t been able to find an english site, so I’ll give you a brief translation from the dutch sites from parkpop and pinkpop.

About parkpop: the date is june 30 2002 from 1.00-9.00 in the afternoon.
Location: Zuiderpark, The hague. There are two stages and 12 artistes will be performing. Most of them are Dutch, but they sing English as well as Dutch and they are pretty good.

About pinkpop: dates: 18-19-20 of may 2002. On the 18th it starts about 6.00 in the afternoon. The 19th and 20th it starts at about 10.00 in the morning. All three days last till 11.00 at night.
They haven’t completed the programme for 2002 yet. If you try www.pinkpop.nl (dutch site) you’ll find the artists from last year (‘programma’ = programme). This should give you an idea about the kind of music what is played there.
I’ll keep an eye out for the programme for next year.

That's very weird Cat, although I know they have been doing some things with the servers that hosts these boards so it just might have been at the time you tried to log in.

Try again now and see what happens-if it still doesn't work, I will email the guy that is working with the servers and see what is up..

Okay, I'm back now and the password-thing seems to work all-right. But there are some weird things happening on your board.... Not all the threads seem to work, half of the time I end up in a page wich encourages me to start my own site. No, thank you! I think you are doing just fine, Kim

What was happening was that the ProBoards who hosts these boards was getting too many people signing up and creating boards so that their server couldn't handle all the traffic.

They recently bought 2 more servers to handle it but had to configure them so that everyones board was working properly.

I think we are now under control!

(I can't afford anything else-this one is a pretty good deal so I guess we have to roll with it!)

Anyway, like I said, glad to see one of the regulars back!!
