As far as my trip in May is concerned... I'm worried that Malev will suspend its flights to Israel! Brittish Airways has stopped flying from today, and it's expected that more airlines will follow...
Besides that... Israelis were advised this evening to open the boxes and get their gas masks ready... the TV has shown a clock counting down the time to the start of war... it's 5 hours now...

Nitsansh, You have been on my mind all day long. I do not know specifically where you live, town wise, but no matter where it is the stress and worry in your part of the world must be intense. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Stay safe my friend. Please log on whenever you are able just to let us know all is well with you and yours.
Can he be so insane as to attack your country? I pray not.

MASSIVE OVERWHELMING TECHNOLOGICAL FIREPOWER!
There is always always the threat of his using his WMD.....but barring that eventuality, this is so lopsided as to be almost humorous....if one could use that term with regards to conflict. In no way meaning to make light of it, not at all, but they are so hugely outgunned as to be ludicrous. For Pete's sake, they have been 'surrendering' now for the past week.
Gulf war I took 6 weeks......we today have at minimum estimates 10 times the firepower as we did then. You do the math.
But, no firepower on our side can negate the potential use of chem/bio on his side. Therein lies the big unknown.
As I said, I remain hopeful this will be over in the blink of an eye......and I am indeed hopeful.

It's the biological/chemical warfare that scares the crap out of me. Guns are one thing but bio/chem is seriously frightening stuff.

Hello All:
For all my political science training and for all the times I have said we live in a realist world -- I still believe this is a very sad event. While I don't remember the sound of bombs falling in the distance I do remember the sounds of gun fire and explosions. It's not something I wish on anyone. I may not be vocal in opposition and I may not sign petitions but it still saddens me.

Bush sure didn't say much-I was expecting a bit more detail than that.
