Someone once told us that Europe was this vast land of unexplorable countryside, and from the other side of the world, that could very well be true! But, we're here, and have this uncontrollable itch to try the following. Many have laughed, yet, many must have done it - what are your thoughts on the following... Jumping in the car, and heading across the channel, to drive the 2 routes as follows Route 1
Western France - Spain - Portugal - Spain - Southern France - Italy - Slovenia - Croatia - Bosnia - Yugoslavia - Albania - Greece - Macedonia - Bulgaria - Romania - Hungary - Austria - Switzerland - France - UK
Route 2 (2nd 30 day slog) France - Belgium - Holland - Germany - Denmark - Sweden - Norway - Finland - Sweden - back to UK < deep breath!> Big questions are - are there any notable highlights that would warrant a pause in the dash, if the first trip was to take place around August, is there anything that would be worth changing the departure date for? Has anyone actually done this and want to tell some tales? What kind of travel restrictions are there in and around Romania / Hungary, especially for non europeans like us (kiwis) Hmmm. That might just do for now!

Why, why, why would you do that?! Don't you want to enjoy your vacation, rather than spending 99% of your time in your car while watching amazing cities go by?

Just want to make sure I read it right... Do you mean 30 DAYS, not weeks? Are days the same length in your part of the world?
