I am traveling with Stray Travel Network on their Norther Europe circuit. Since it is a hop-on/hop-off tour, I don't have to follow this exactly. In fact, we have already added in our "extra" days according to the timetable of their departures from each city.
I'd like any thoughts or recommendations any of you wonderful travel experts (or novices) have for me. Especially related to the best stuff to do in the cities where we will be spending some extra time. Also, does anyone know anything about Cesky Krumlov?
Thanks!
Stray Travel Northern Circuit Route: Day 1: Venice to St Johann (spending 2 days in Venice before starting the tour) Day 2: St Johann to Vienna (we plan to add 2 days here) Day 3: Vienna to Cesky Krumlov Day 4: Cesky Krumlov to Prague Day 5: Prague (we're adding 2 days here) Day 6: Prague to Dresden Day 7: Dresden to Berlin Day 8: Berlin to Amsterdam Day 9: Amsterdam to London

Cesky Krumlov is a beautiful, fairytale-like town that is definitely worth a visit. Be sure to pass at least one night there, as seeing the castle illuminated is a wonderful sight. One night is plenty, though, as it is a small place.
Cheers from Praha, Ray

I would suggest to stay extra days in Berlin and Amsterdam. One night is nothing for these cities.
In Cesky Krumlov, take a tour inside the castle and stroll through the streets, and you've done with the city. The touristic part of the city can be easily crossed in 10 minutes walk. I was there 2 nights and one full day, and didn't find it worth that much... it was a lovely town, though, and was extra-cheap, and I met some nice people there... I was there in Easter and the weather wasn't good... there are outdoor activities in summer like canoeing in the river (Vltava), so you can spend some time there to cool down and relax... but as far as tourist attractions are concerned, not much to offer...
BTW... which hostel are you staying there? It's unbelievable how many hostels this tiny city has... there were about 15 hostels in the list of the tourist information, in a town of 13000 inhabitants! Not much in terms of beds though... the biggest of them is Travellers with about 40 beds and the rest have less than 20... so there are maybe 300 hostel beds, and they fill up quickly...
