Eurorail is offering these passes.
The Paris pass is for admission to 70 places, including the Louvre, Pantheon, Notre Dame, Arc de Triomphe, plus lots of museums. 3 days $42, or 5 days $63 US

Again, unless you are staying a week or more, and plan on being on the run every minute and visiting, albeit briefly, every out of the way place listed this is not a good value. I did buy a similar pass for my first trip to London and while a few of the 'big' sites are included, the ones you will surely go see, many of the ones included are second and third rate places , so to speak, that most visitors never go to. On this pass, for example, should you just go and pay yourself, at full rate prices: Louvre - 7.50 Notre Dame - cathedral is free, crypt is 5.50 Musee d'Orsay - 7.00 Rodin Museum - 2.00
You're going to have to do a LOT of sightseeing to ever make up your $42. I'd say, 8 out of 10 times at least these sort of pass things are not worth the money. The one sole advantage is that you can 'pre-pay' another part of your trip. Which is why I did it that first time. And BTW...look carefully at what is not convered.....I'll bet dollars to donuts that the Eiffel Tower and Versailles, two top attractions, are not convered!

Thanks for the advice! We're interested in only a few tourist attractions, but would just like to see the city (we'll be in France about a week).

Isn't one of the attractions of the PARIS MUSEUM PASS though that for the most part you don't have to wait in any lines!?
Oh and I think Versailles is covered but the Eiffel Tower is not.
