Hi! This website is FANTASTIC!!! It has been such a great help to me!!! I will be travelling Italy with a friend in September and I chanced across this website touting the Venice Card. Anybody has any idea if that card is at all useful and worth getting? I will be in Venice for 3 days.

Having bought more than my fair share of these 'city' passes my first extended trip, I can say almost without exception...you will not get your money's worth out of this. Buy your own transport pass as needed or go PTP and pay only for those museums and sites you really want to see.
The sole 'advantage' and the one I justified to myself was that one could pay 'up front' for many legs/sites of your trip. But in pure dollars, this is no bargain. So many of the included 'visits' are at best second rate sites that you would not usually go to see anyway.... it's hard to know your first few trips, and they make it sound so inviting and useful.....but really, save your money and pay as you go. It's a much better deal.

I purchased the following cards on our recent trip:
Aarhus (1-day) Copenhagen (3-day) Gothenburg (1-day) Oslo (2-day)
I've also purchased Seattle and San Francisco passes that have a similar concept.
In each case, we got more than full value out of each card - but I don't know if Venice will be in the same category.

What does the Venice card include? Is there a website about it? It seems to me that, like dustoff said, you may not get your money's worth unless it goes to all the things you definitely want to see.
