I have 3-5 days (hopefully it’ll be 5) to travel around Ireland this October and was hoping for suggestions on where to go. I don’t like constant moving so I’d say 1 or 2 places (maybe 3 if two are close to each other) would be ideal. I’m more interested in smaller villages than big cities. I’m more into scenery and nature than buildings and I’d like to bike and hike a bit. I’d also be interested in seeing some ruins. Most of all I’m interested in experiencing the culture and the locals. I’m very interested in Irish music, myths and lore and I’d like to experience that aspect of Ireland. I’ll probably be flying in and out of Dublin. Any suggestions??? Thanks!

i agree about going to kerry. i used to live in tralee and the surrounding country is beautiful. there are lots of round towers, castles, and other such ruins in close distance. if you want to experience culture, you should definitely have lunch or dinner in a nice pub-they are so different from bars. enjoy your stay!

Definately agree with Galway and it sounds like you would really enjoy a trip to the Aran Islands, which you can do from there. The schools are still taught in Gaelic etc. (up until high school I believe), lots of handmade wool sweaters to buy etc.
