Hi,
I'm going to be spending 4 weeks in Europe during May this year, and I plan to go to
London
Paris
Rome
Prague
Sweden
What kind of shirt and jacket should I bring to prepare for the weather there?

where in Sweden? it's a pretty big place. if not too far North, and not too early in May, a few good layers ought to be fine.
but, first week of May in Lapland might be a little chilly.

i'd suggest a bunch of t-shirts/tank-tops for where/when its warm. plus a cardigan type thing for layering and a fleece jacket. plus an umbrella... particularly for london.

Not too north in Sweden, somewhere like Lund, Denmark, Armsterdam..
I'm not sure if I should bring mostly shorts/short sleeve shirts or mostly longer pants/jeans/long sleeve shirts, I'm thinking that it might be very rainy and cool in May, but I'm not sure.
I have:
A thin summer nylon jacket
A thicker fleece jacket
A hoodie
which one should I bring?

In July in Aarhus, there was an enormous thunderstorm one morning when I was there. I was soaked. I think that weather is fairly typical. And it definitely wasn't warm either.

Well I went in the 3rd week of May in 2001 and had only hhhhhhot weather! And I mean hot, so I think you should bring stuff that keeps you ready for any temperature, but mostly do the layering thing  |

prolly the fleece. with layers to go under it. [maybe even some silk long johns. they're light as well as warm]

Just to let you know this week (11/04/06) in UK we have had snow in the South of the country.
For the UK weather in May I would pack for four seasons in one day. It can start out sunny then heavy rain before gale force winds then back to sun before it gets dark. Today has been really warm but yesterday we had hail stones.
