On my trip I will be definately seeing Cologne in Germany! It looks so amazing, especially the church. And another a great looking place would be Nuremburg in Germany! Also a few others, ask Jennifer about them, would be Heidelburg, Freiburg and Hamburg. There seem to be a great amount of awesome places to see in Germany!
Don't have much info on other places.

I would suggest just reading through all the threads in this 'City and Country Advice' and make your decisions based on what cities interest you. You wouldn't want to plan your whole trip based on what other people have told you, just to get there and find out nothing interests you! For instance, some people like art, some WW2 history, etc. Pick your cities based upon what you like! One thing about travelling to some cities which are 'out of the way' or 'off the beaten path' is that they aren't always connected with a rail line. It seems to me in most cases, that visiting places 'off the beaten path' are most easily accessed by car.... Or you do a LOT of walking!! ~Michelle

Hey! Well I was in Vienna, Austria, can't help much there, but go to Bratislaval if you do go there, it,s in Slovakia, an hour away for 16 euro return ticket, worth a daytrip!
In Germany, I can say Jena is a great little city in the east! Weimar is really nice too! Bonn is cool! Dresden is absolutely fabulous! Cologne is unforgettably great! mooseontheloose is right, go there! Dusseldorf is nice! Nurnberg is a time capsule! Passau is right on the Austrian border, its a great great town! Everywhere I went I loved, I can't comment every one, but here is where I have been besides there, if you want info or anything, let me know!
Nurnberg, Passau, Munich, Fussen, Lindau, (Lake of Konstanz, really nice), Freiburg im Bresgau, Heidelberg, Frankfurt, Koblenz, Leverkusen, Cologne, Hamburg, Luebeck (on the baltic sea, stunning!), Berlin xoxo Jen
