hey yall. im zachypoo, this is my first post.
im backpacking (very roughly) great brittain, paris, amsterdam, berlin, prague, venice, rome, nice, barcelona, madrid, london in the last 2 weeks of december, and the first 2 weeks of january. i need a shoe, therefore, that can adapt to the snows of deutschland to the sunny south of france. my feet run on the warm side. so im afraid a high boot will make me sweat when its warm, and a low boot will get snowed. i was thinking i could use the support of a mid height hiker. as i will be packing, and i know what a living-pack can weigh.
usually i can pack and shop pretty well, but im super stumped.
if anyone knows what europes really like in dec-jan., reply or throw me a PM.
thanks!

I've only done UK and paris in winter and I just wore hiking shoes. good traction and warm enough. Generally speaking you are going to we walking on streets which will be well cleared in countries used to snow. in countries not used to snow (ie uk) if they get it, there is almost never enough to warrant high boots. what's important is traction imo. i almost never wore boots in montreal and they get lots of snow there. up to you. but i think i high boot is unnecessary. they may only be useful one or two days whileyou are there if there happens to be a big storm.
