Transport between Croatia and Istanbul

Hello fellow travellers,

I'm planning to fly from London to Ljubljana (Slovenia). Then either visit Croatia or head up to Hungary. The final place I'd like to visit is Istanbul.

What is the best way to travel between these countries? I couldn't find any direct flights to Istanbul through various search engines for cheap airlines.
