I am an American here in Europe now, living in Southern Italy. Before returning to America next year, I would like to do the pilgrimage of Camino de Santiago...an 800km (a little over 500 miles) walking trek from France, but mostly across the northern top of Spain. I wonder if anyone has done it, has any information, can answer a some questions? Or point to someone who has?? I have done research and will buy a guide book, but there are some things I cannot seem to find answered.
thank you!

Did not do the walk, but was in Santiago about a month ago now. If you can get your hands on the Spain Lonely Planet they include quite a bit of information on it, route, places to stay, etc.

i have done web searches on the camino (thanks for responding, sorry it took so long to get back here!) and read a great deal but i have read nothing in regards to how much money people would need for a trip like this. i have read the costs of the refuges, and such (a lot i read was before the euro too!) but i have never done a backpacking type trip so i have no idea! i found the 'what to bring' but i think i found that for someone who biked.
i will check out the lonely planet guide. any other suggestions or ideas would greatly help me. i am in europe as a nanny, and need to save for it and to come home, etc.
