The idea of spending a few days in Morocco is incredibly appealing to me, but I'm wondering a few things in regard to it.
First of all, as a solo female traveler, is this a safe idea?
2nd, is it possible to only spend a few days in Morocco or should I save it for another trip when I have more time to spare?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! The info on these boards has been helping me so much!

went to Tanger, Morocco, as a day trip from Algeciras, Spain, in `99 con mis padres on a ferry. must say that i wasn't all that impressed.
it seemed safe enough to me. but, we didn't go beyond Tanger.
Marrakech might be more interesting. there are flights, but not from Spain.

Was in Morocco for 7 days in December. Hit up Fez, Chefchaouen, Assilah and camped out in the Sahara Desert for a night. The border towns, Tanger & Ceuta are very sketchy, you would not need or want to spend any time there.
I have met a lot of female travelers that have traveled through Morocco by themselves without any problems. However, like any other 3rd world country, it would definitely be safer traveling within a group. As for spending only a few days there, I think you would be better off setting aside at least a couple of weeks.

Thanks for the advice. For now, I'm thinking of holding off on Morocco and going back when I have more time to spare, as well as the possibility of a travel partner.

The more time you can spend in Morocco, the better - it's a huge country with lots to see. Safety: you should have no worries, as always, just have your wits about you and use your common sense. Most people in Morocco are kind and good hearted people. If you want to sample it, try a few days. Tanger is not the best place for this. I would suggest, as an option, try www.atlas-blue.com for a flight from lots of european destinations (london - Morocco is 60 euro if you book in advance and between 100 and 130 euro if you dont). Try Marrakech for 2 days, and book another flight with atlas-blue to say france or italy to continue your travels. This will give you a taster for Morocco and if you like it, you can always go back for another , longer trip. If you need any further advice, feel free to pm or email me.
