In two weeks, I'm going to the Armagh/Monaghan regions in Ireland on a film shoot. I will then have 2-3 days to drive my way back to Shannon Airport and I was wondering if anyone could let me know where I should stop (Limerick, Clare, Galway?) to relax and sightsee a bit?
Thanks!

Galway or Clare are worth a visit. Galway is a University town so it has a bit more life to it, but Clare is very picturesque. Limerick doesn't have a very good reputation crime-wise but I've never been there so I couldn't really comment on whether it's worth a visit.

I'm not sure how far out of the way it would be, but visit Kilarney... it's in the Southwest of Ireland... and take a tour of the Ring of Kerry... It's absolutely phenomenal... simply breath taking... I forget the name of the company I used, but I'd suggest taking a tour with smaller busses... that way, at each stop, it doesn't take as long to get on/off the bus.. It's not too expensive, and it's worth every cent. Take your camera. Plus... Kilarney has a huge assortment of pubs with live traditional Irish music every night..

I second the Ring of Kerry trip - stunning! And Killarney is a cute town on the edge of the National Park (great pubs and the Chop Shop!). The whole western penninsula is gorgeous and worth even just a one-night stay in Dingle to be able to drive around the coastline. If you want to go that far south then County Kerry is worth the trip.
Galway is a fun town and a good base if you want to go driving each day. The Cliffs of Moher are definitely worth a visit - again another breath-taking bout of scenery! Driving through the Burren is cool too, all moonscape rock formations along the coast.
You could see both areas, but it would be a quick trip through each.
Have fun and slainte!
