Help – My wife and I are taking a European honeymoon – Round trip tickets have been purchased flying into and out of Amsterdam; June 29th – July 12th.
So far this is the schedule
29th-3rd – Paris 3rd-6th – Barcelona 6th-9th Costa Brava – This is where I need help. 9th-12th Amsterdam
Paris, Barcelona, and Amsterdam all seam easy enough but we can not figure out where on the Spanish coast we want to go. Basically we want these three days to be our relaxed sitting on the beach, enjoying some seafood and a few drinks days. Lots of people have recommended Lloret De Mar – however this looks like it might be very crowded at this time of the year and much more of a larger city on the beach as apposed to a relaxed environment. We would also like to find some place that has some night life to it as well.
I have also been looking at Empuriabrava but mostly because there is a sporting attraction there that interests me, however I can not figure out if there is beach and tourist activities to be had there. Does anyone know anything about Empuriabrava.
Any information on nice destinations in Costa Brava would be greatly appreciated, and feel free to critique any other aspect of our trip.
Thanks
neilp

I'd definitely avoid Lloret. It doesn't have the best reputation. Basically think UK/German package holidays.
That said, you want nightlife, so the vast majority of suitable places will be busy and more like tourist towns on the coast. In terms of Empuriabrava, your best bet will be to read it up in Lonely Planet or something.
Also, will you have a car for this period? Some of the best places in this region aren't too accessible by public transport, so a car can be a real asset.
