Hello!
My first stop is in Dublin. I am planning on spending 3-4 days there. One of those days, I'd like to take a day trip somewhere. I don't want to rent a car, so I'd prefer that the place be train accessible. I'd love to hear your suggestions!!
Hope everyone is well!

The two day trips I did when I was there were:
Day One: Newgrange and Knowth (mounds that were made before the egyptians ((if I remember correctly)) Newgrange is pretty famous, on the soltice the light enters the cavern inside and lights the whole thing up, big list to actually see this. But you can go in and see it without the soltice) and Hill of Tara. I had to go to this because my friends are big on faeries. But it was the centre for the tribes of Ireland. The view is fantastic (if its not misty, which is hard not to, but the view is still good)
Day two: Went to Glendalough. Its a monastery between two lakes. Pretty famous, fantastic beauty as well. We went when it was sunny and it was absolutely gorgeous.

Thanks lissurlalunes!
Do you happen to remember about how long it was to get to each place via train?
Hope you are well!

I am spending the same amount of time in Ireland and decided to take a bus to Galway for a night. I haven't done it yet, so I can't tell you how it worked out, but the bus seems to be simple enough and relatively cheap (18 EU RT). www.citylink.ie It is a 3.5 hour bus ride.

Hi Kelly:
I just checked out your link, and a day trip to Galway sounds like fun, but 7 hours of travel for only spending 3 days in Ireland sounds kind of long. I think I should look somewhere a bit more local.
When are you going to Ireland?

I am going to stay overnight in Galway, breaking up the travels. Still a lot of time on the road, but I'm just going to think of it as time to write in my journal and relax.
I am arriving in Dublin on July 24 and leaving in the very early AM on July 28 for Barcelona.
