I know most here love Bruges, but what about Ghent? I know a few people who adore Ghent, even more than Bruges, stating that it's just as beautiful but more authentic. I'm wondering, is Ghent worth more than a day trip and if so, would it be worth taking time from Bruges and staying in both cities?
Also, can anyone comment on Antwerp? I always thought it was appealing and a daytrip to Ypres would be awesome. But, is it worth spending 2 days there?

Ghent is a pretty city, not as pretty as Brugge mind, but worth a visit nonetheless. However, it's easy enough to reach Ypres/the battlefields from Brugge if you keep it as your base the whole time. I don't know that it's worth staying in Antwerp for 2 days, especially instead of one of the other cities. There are a few museums and the main square is impressive, but Ghent has a different/more relaxed atmosphere to it and Brugge is just gorgeous. Check out this post for info on Antwerp (and Belgium in general: pretravel.proboards1.com/index.cgi?board=CCadvice&action=display&n=1&thread=3731&page=1

Okay sounds good. Well I've had the day completely off today, first time in a while, so I spent most of it looking at Europe stuff for fun. I've changed a few ideas of mine around and really like how it's looking right now.
For now, my only "unsure" area is 2 days I need to allot to a city - either see Antwerp or Salzburg or Innsbruck. For the city itself and how much there is to see/do, which city would be the best choice in your guys' opinion?

If it's to fit in to the itinerary you've posted in another section, then I'd suggest 1 day Salzburg and 1 day Innsbruck as they are both in the same region and you're already in Brugge which is the best pick out of the Belgian cities you listed and you can do day trips to Ypres and Antwerp from there if you like.

Sort of what I was thinking as well. Thanks again.
