The Green Vault sounds really interesting. I'm still working on our itinerary with my teenage daughter, and I'm considering including Dresden. What are your experiences with this city? What do you like and recommend?

Aha, part of the Vienna trip I'm guessing?!!
I was last in Dresden before the Gruenes Gewoelbe (Green Vault) was open to the public, so sadly haven't been in, but have heard from friends that it's an assault on the eyes as there's so much to look at - in a good way! You could do a "compare and contrast" with the Kaiserappartment in the Hofburg in Vienna.
