Hey everyone, I just had a question. Is there anyway to find work in Europe without a Visa? Can you find places where you work under the table? I heard somewhere that a lot of places you can find this like work in restaurants or on a farm. Has anyone done this before?

there are certainly people who work "under the table." but, you risk getting kicked out of the country and being told you are no longer welcome there. i don't know, this "unwelcome" status might apply to the whole EU.
do you want to risk being forever banned from travel to Europe?

its very easy to get a working holiday visa for the UK as a canadian. the visa is good for 2 years. i believe that it is very easy for quebecers to get a visa for france, too. i know the province has all sorts of agreements with france. but you guys appear to be from bc and ottawa... so the uk would be your best bet. this is something you have to think aobut before you leave i don't believe you can get a visa while you are there.

Futher changes in the Home Office (immigration) in the UK about 2 years ago now mean that you must possess an Entry Clearance Visa (work visa or Ancestory visa) before you enter the UK to work/live. You can, if you're already there, leave the UK and apply in, say, France at the UK Embassy and wait there while the info is processed. It's fiddly, but this is the only way to obtain a visa once your there (or in the vicinity).

Yep, it's only available up to grandparents born in the UK, or parents (Right to Abode/Leave to Remain).

I heard in Italy, they don't even care. There's so many illegal immigrants and tons of Americans stay there without visas or anything
