bonjour! i'll be traveling through switzerland this summer (geneva, interlaken and zurich) with a friend but i haven't got a clue what to see in either geneva or zurich! we're 24 and 27 years old and like the occassional party. i did some research and found out about the street festival in zurich on 11 august, so i think we'll plan on going there. what else should we see in zurich? geneva-- will be doing a day trip to chamonix-mont blanc. what else can we see in geneva? i think we're staying only 2 days, due to time and money. interlaken-- will stay 2 days and do some bungee jumping, i've always wanted to do that! anything else to see in interlaken? merci beaucoup!!! ;D

Bonjour, guten tag, buongiorno and bien di (well, you are going to Switzerland so I didn't want to leave a language out!). There have been quite a flurry of posts recently on Switzerland (as well as getting down to Chamonix from Switzerland) - have you had a look through these? pretravel.proboards1.com/index.cgi?board=intinary&action=display&n=1&thread=7209&page=1, pretravel.proboards1.com/index.cgi?board=intinary&action=display&n=1&thread=7204&page=1, pretravel.proboards1.com/index.cgi?board=Transportation&action=display&n=1&thread=4855&page=1 and this pretravel.proboards1.com/index.cgi?board=intinary&action=display&n=1&thread=7200&page=1 which is your original post I think! There are quite a few suggestions in here regarding places in Switzerland but as you've decided you still want to stay in Zurich (street festival will be fun) then by all means, but there's not a whole lot else in terms of museums, scenery, etc but you could go out to the lake, or look here www.zuerich.com/index.html?__setlocale=en for ideas. But as many will tell you, sightseeing is Switzerland is best done outside Zurich so don't allocate too much of your time in the city at the expense of other places. Geneva - if you are going there and then all the way around the lake down to Chamonix, you might be better off staying closer as you'll find that the day trip to Chamonix will be a long one. Do you absolutely positively have to go to Geneva? (can't remember the route you chose). Otherwise you could go from Interlaken down to Chamonix via Martigny and stay in Chamonix instead (v pretty) of Geneva. Interlaken - so much to see just up the valley: Gimmelwald, Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen, Junfrau, Murren, Stechelberg, Truemmelbach Falls......you might want to take a day from Zurich and put it in Interlaken instead (so 3 instead of 2) to allow for the bungee jumping and some good sightseeing days.
